So, week 2 down! What happened… I:

  • Broke the site hosting
  • Fixed it
  • Broke it again, this time losing all the data from it (mostly just stats at this point, which is the beauty of Website-as-Code-on-Kubernetes (or Wack, as nobody calls it)
  • Finally, I think I’m in a better place.

The website now correctly has the hostname without the blog subdomain, which is nice. In the meantime I’ve been fighting Longhorn to keep my volumes alive. This kind of business is why the Big Three (AWS, Azure, and… Google? I think, but who’s hosting on Google  ) can keep charging whatever they like as long as it works!

The TechWife has their birthday today, and a chunk of my week has gone towards that instead of the obviously lesser problem of PVs in flux (not in Flux, I mean they are in Flux, but rather in a space between liminal states of being kind of way)

I’ve also given up on Longhorn managing my Nextcloud data volume and, after some shenanigans, am now mounting the NFS share as a PV with PVC and letting the Helm chart do it’s thing. More on that later!

Happy weekend all!
